A hand holds a world globe in view Your life experience matters

Ever wonder why a Credit Score, or your country’s equivalent practice- that stress inducing number that never makes sense and only examines our money habits- has been the ONLY digitized way to represent our life experience?!

Well, we wondered long and hard about that, and realized that humanity deserves a way to digitally showcase their authentic selves. Our world needs a way to convert life experience into a number that represents one’s qualities worthy of praise.

Thus, the Merit Score was born. The original way to get your beautiful life calculated and digitized.

What Is a Merit Score?

The Meritwiz team spent countless hours researching studies published by cognitive psychologists, sociologists, neuroscientists, and some other ridiculously intelligent professionals, to create an intricate yet straightforward life experience questionnaire.

Additionally, to make sure that we assembled the most accurate merits that would link to everyday life choices, we directly consulted with those that have endured the experiences listed in our questionnaire to the fullest degree.

Completing our scored questionnaire will in turn issue you your own unique Merit Score- a three to four digit number that simultaneously exhibits the following: where you’ve been, where you’re at now, and what can be achieved further down the road.

How Does the Scoring Work?

Find your merit score using the world's first life experience calculator

Throughout our research journey, Meritwiz discovered that there are seven core human merits that are imperative to potential employers, life partners, and overall social evolution: resilience, critical thinking, adaptability, problem solving, teamwork/communication, empathy, and discipline.

We refer to these as the “Significant Seven”.

Each one of our significant seven merits holds a value of 10 points. For each question/life experience on the questionnaire, a score is calculated based upon how many of those significant seven are unquestionably strengthened.

For example, “Are you, or have you been, a parent/step parent/caregiver to another human?”. If answered yes, 70 points would tally because all significant seven merits are unanimously strengthened going through an experience as such. However, “Are you a regular reader?”. If answered yes, 20 points will calculate because this life choice mostly builds critical thinking and discipline.

For 28 core questions on the questionnaire, points are only calculated if you have or have not experienced the experiences listed. The extent to which you have experienced the life events on the questionnaire has no effect on scoring. This maintains a reasonable fairness across the board.

With that said, some of the core questions will (if answered “Yes”) trigger 8 additional spinoff questions that have different point structures available. For example, each language spoken/human cared for/self employed business is 5 points. Every country/state/province visited, regardless of the various traveling sub genres addressed in the questionnaire, is 1 point.

Max available scores will vary for each user because available scoring is only calculated by whichever spinoff questions are activated. Most users age 25+ will see a max available score in the 1050-1250 range.

As with any scoring system like the monetary Credit Score, IQ test, SAT, or other academic tests, you start at zero and then across the spectrum eventually arrive at a top out number or percentage.

Scoring Guideline:

300-699: Very common score placement. Usually those that score here are either heavy into parenting and home/local/daily activities or heavy into secondary education and various genres of traveling. Plenty of merit wisdom to discover here.

700-999: Landing into more diversity. Those that arrive here usually have experienced a decent dose of most major categories- moderate parenting, moderate Intl. traveling, moderate education, and several daily experiences. Broader life resume here, loads of “interesting” to reveal.

1000-1360: Very few things that one hasn’t experienced! If you meet someone with a score in this bracket, we suggest dropping everything you’re doing, travel to them if they’re not right smack in front of you, offer to buy them a drink of their choice, and graciously listen to their life story. Some level of “wow” stimulation is pretty much guaranteed.

The highest possible score to achieve on the merit scale, excluding one’s age value listed on question#1, is 1360. Keep in mind, meeting an honest individual claiming a Merit Score anywhere remotely near that number would be like running into Bigfoot on a hike in the woods- not impossible per se, but extremely rare.

Usually, a magician shouldn’t reveal any secrets. However, we proudly hold the rights to the formula and questionnaire discussed above. Therefore, transparency with the scoring process actually feels refreshing. We hope the feeling is mutual.

What Can I Do with a Merit Score?

Life Experience Questionnaire Use the merit score for work school and more

There are several insight avenues here, so we’ll break this question down in categories:

For whomever, globally: It is in your best interest to answer the questionnaire as truthfully as possible. A potential employer, life partner, or organization may inquire about all or some of the components of your Merit Score, and dishonesty usually comes about in time and is not an attractive merit.

Your score is not a competition. Your score is not an invitation for judgement or discrimination. Your score can only increase over life and will never be penalized. Your score is a powerful gateway to productive conversation and social growth.

Your Merit Score is a tool to display on resumes, dating profiles, social media profiles, volunteer applications, and much more. Wherever there is an opportunity to represent the REAL you and how your incredible existence has defined your qualities worthy of praise- that’s where your Merit Score should be flying proudly.

For Human Resources: We know that finding solid soft skills, or a stellar “significant seven” merit package in our language, is a major win in your world. We discovered that the majority of human soft skills are strengthened and defined during one’s personal time- by choices made and life experienced- as opposed to one’s time being paid to fulfill expectations.

Considering this proven data, only 3 out of the 38 questions on our questionnaire address employee specific “work”- past or current. We understand that several of our questions cannot legally be asked of applicants by yourselves. However, you certainly can implement the questionnaire into your vetting process and choose focus points to discuss or let an applicant openly share from their results.

Resumes will always be the go-to for work history and hard skills detection, we get that. The Merit Score, however, is the future for finding those coveted soft skills that could align brilliantly with your professional community and the company’s vision moving forward.

We made recruiting easier, HR. Thrilled to help, seriously.

For Dating Platforms/businesses: Early Merit Score results done by couples showed us some fascinating conclusions- partners usually end up with scores within 100-200 points of each other. The sociology experts nailed it- similar life experiences really do draw our species to one another to flock together through life’s sun and rain.

There’s heavy potential to kindle some radical romance linkage here so…
